The Greater Bay Area as a Tourism Hub
In the coming years, Hong Kong, Macau and Zhuhai will form a tourism delta, driving demand for integrated resorts, shopping complexes and MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferencing & Exhibitions) facilities. Other cities in the GBA are also developing sightseeing and cultural attractions, such as Panyu in Guangzhou, Boluo and Longmen in Huizhou, Kaiping and Taishan in Jiangmen. All of these factors will drive demand for retail and hospitality property.

There are 29 railway hubs across the GBA, and a total of over 56 new railway stations are scheduled for completion by 2020. These hubs will emerge as future urban centres or sub-centres of the region’s tier I cities, and are also set to become new regional business centres. The increasing availability of metro connections highlights the strong growth potential of many of these districts for retail property investors, particular new residential districts in Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Dongguan and Zhongshan.
